NOT MY WAY, BUT YOURS

You never know what God is going to speak to you in a moment even in the simplest of conversations with others. I am always listening for God to speak in every aspect of my day and night. This day was no different than any other.

I have been blessed to have a therapist help my body heal from the effects of cancer treatments. Before every appointment we talk about how I have been feeling. I have an idea in my head about the type of massage I want but she always has a better suggestion. This time she suggested lymphatic drainage through massage. She proceeded to tell me about another oncology patient’s response to treatment and that she was going to use the patient’s response on her new website. I listen to her explain more about the type of massage she is doing and why, as she normally does.

I decided to challenge myself and think about what I would write about her if I were going to describe her and what she has done for me. I must note that until a few days prior I would never challenge myself in this manner because I have never considered myself any form of a writer -BUT GOD!

As I lay there it comes to me suddenly. She has so much knowledge and wisdom in what she does. That knowledge gives her the wisdom to know what would be best to help my body heal. She makes the suggestion for what will benefit me, but allows me to have the final say. Her compassion and caring to see me made completely well is her priority.

At that moment it is so clear to me that is exactly how my Heavenly Father works. He knows exactly what I need to bring healing to my soul. I have my plan but in His wisdom, knowledge, compassion and caring for me says “trust Me", what I have for you will benefit you far greater than what you are thinking.”

He makes the suggestion that we trust Him, but He allows us to make the final decision to do so.
